Taylor-Duncan Interests, Inc. is owned by Larry R. Taylor and Phillip W. Duncan. The company was formed in 1992 to take advantage of residential land development opportunities arising from the aftermath of the 1980’s S&L debacle. Taylor-Duncan and its related affiliates have developed thousands of lots in the Texas markets of Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio as well as in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Duncan have extensive backgrounds in residential land development and homebuilding, as well as other aspects of commercial real estate development. Since forming their alliance in 1992, however, residential land development has been the core business of the principals.

In addition to acquiring and developing thousands of single-family lots, Taylor-Duncan or its affiliates invests equity in residential developments or other related projects. Taylor-Duncan arranged the recapitalization of Goodman Homes, a major Dallas, TX area homebuilder. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Duncan served on the company’s board of directors for five years, overseeing tremendous growth of the company and a corporate restructuring. The Taylor-Duncan investment group ultimately sold its ownership interest back to the company. Goodman Homes was subsequently sold to K. Hovnanian Enterprises, one of the largest publicly held homebuilders in the nation.

The team utilizes a flexible approach to structure and finance each investment opportunity. Depending on the numerous factors involved, these structures can range from straightforward purchases to joint ventures with homebuilders, landowners or other developers.
